The graphic features an original illustration by Kamakura-based artist Mariko Yamamoto. Inspired by Mt. Rokkokukenzan, a local mountain in Kita-Kamakura, the artwork depicts the flora and fauna of the area through delicate line drawing.

Mt. Rokkokukenzan rises behind Kita-Kamakura.
Though small in scale, it is a rich satoyama that has been carefully maintained over time by members of the local community.
The landscape depicted on this T-shirt does not always reveal itself to those who simply walk the trails.
Like wild rabbits and field mice that rarely show themselves, small living creatures quietly inhabit spaces close to everyday human life.
Simply knowing of their presence may change the way the grass, the valleys, and the air feel when you walk Mt. Rokkokukenzan again.
If, while running, your gaze momentarily rests on the ground at your feet or the sky above, and a small moment of awareness arises, that would bring me joy.
Through the small world of Mt. Rokkokukenzan in Kita-Kamakura, I hope today’s landscape offers you a quiet sense of wonder and discovery.

Born in 1965 in Kamakura, where she currently resides.
After working as a kindergarten teacher, web designer, and content creator, she is now based in Kamakura. Drawing from her experience in early childhood education, she approaches her work with a perspective aligned with that of children, portraying encounters with the nature that exists alongside everyday life.
In 2024, an encounter with the nest of an endangered harvest mouse in a Kamakura valley inspired her to launch kamakura cherip — Meguru Kamakura —, a project centered on the relationship between nature and daily life in Kamakura. She continues to create and share products primarily through illustration.
